On April 27th, Jude turned ONE! We can hardly believe how quickly he has grown, going from a tiny, sleepy baby to a toddling, giggling one year old. Below is a picture my (Jenn's) friend Meagan took at Turtle River State Park, near our home, just a few days ago! She took lots of other lovely photos too and we can't wait to see them!
Jude is spoiled--he had three parties! The first was on his birthday, just a little lunch party with the family since I was leaving for state speech in Bismarck that afternoon. The second was that evening when Kirk took the kids to Grandpa Larry and Grandma Elaine's for supper and cake. Will and Leah stayed with Grandpa and Grandma that night so Kirk just had Jude for the weekend.
I made some cupcakes for our "lunch party" and took some for my speech kids too!
Onesie that Grandma Ann tracked down for us at Carter's :)
The third party was on May 4, when we had sort-of a cars and trucks theme and some friends from church came and ate supper with us. The best part for the kids was that Uncle Jon, Kirk's brother, was there too! He rode the train from Illinois to stay with us for a few days.
We had to have a Dairy Queen ice cream cake, of course!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Jude! We love you so very much! You are smiley, cuddly and love to be tickled so you can laugh super hard :) By your first birthday you were crawling very quickly, walking along furniture and walking when people held on to your hands. Your siblings love to play with you, make you smile, and give you their snacks and your paci when you are tired. We pray that you will grow up to be a man of great conviction and yet a gentle spirit.
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go." Psalm 32:8
