Busy Summer!

We've had quite the busy summer so far and I don't think it's showing any signs of slowing down! From VBS to our trip to Annual Conference to vacation in Illinois to various playdates and short trips to visit friends, our lives have been full of activity. We're hoping in the future to keep up on this blog a little better!

Here are some recent photos:

Our house before painting, staining the deck and removing the shutters. We have yet to finish up the landscaping and trimming the bushes.

It is a pretty tan color with a "java" brown trim.

I love my dark brown garage door!

The kids with Grandma Ann (Kirk's mom) at Annual Conference. We shared a hotel suite with them, which got us an awesome price and lots of space!

The kids enjoying the pool at the hotel.

On the way to Devils Lake for Father's Day, Leah fell asleep in the van reading my Parents magazine.

Pics of our beautiful new kitchen counters!! We are spoiled, I know.

Notice that Will is missing a tooth? He had to have the one he chipped last fall pulled because of an abcess. He did very well at the pediatric dentist and they said he was a very calm patient. He came home with several stickers, a toothbrush, an hourglass timer and lofty aspirations of brushing his teeth for a full 3 minutes each time.

This is one of the things Leah likes to do: climb on the coffee table and flip through the Bible.

A boat ride courtesy of my Uncle Tom on the way to Illinois in July. We stopped at their lake cabin for a few hours and spent some time in the beautiful lake on a nice warm day!

Independence Day parade in Yorkville--a block from Grandpa & Grandma Thorson's house

Will loved the firetrucks.

Leah was excitied about the "puppies"!

The kids got tons of candy which Leah tried to feed to her doll :)

We went to Blackberry Farm, where Kirk's grandpa used to work after his retirement. The kids really enjoyed the schoolhouse, pony rides, train ride and "driving" tractors.

Yes, I know it's mean. But it's funny.

The weather has been hotter this summer so we've spent alot of time at the pool and at the splash park in a nearby town.

The road by Devils Lake near my parents' lake lot. Most of the road is washed away and it's hard to believe it used to be a quarter mile from the road down to the beach.

Martz Family Reunion in Cando

Will had swimming lessons. He loved them--even on the cold days!
