I just read a friend's blog with the same post title and thought it was a good one, so I'm borrowing it :)
During the month of January, we returned from Illinois and spent a week and a half at home, leaving once again for another adventure (well, that's what Will called it). While Kirk attended a pastor's conference in Wisconsin, I took the kids and stayed with my friend Monica and her two kids, who are the same age as Will & Leah (Monica's husband, Andy, went with Kirk to the conference). We enjoyed our time with them and it actually gave me a chance to relax, visit and not worry about a clean house or making food (thanks for all the good meals, Monica!).
The Visitor's Center when we entered Iowa.
See Will plugging his nose? That's because he thought it smelled like stinky cows. I suppose it's Iowa... :)
We had a great afternoon outside with all the kids sledding and making snow angels.
Apparently, Leah wasn't too thrilled about my kissing her cheek.
Leah loves to hug! Especially when it's Isaiah!
Will & Moriah were playing house in her tent. The red & yellow thing is Will's car that he parked in the "driveway".
For some reason, Will doesn't like playing play-doh at home, but he gladly made creations at someone else's house???
Moriah convinced Leah to eat a snack in her tent.
Leah and Isaiah were pretty excited to see who could match each other throwing food on the floor and getting it all over their faces.
The fancy meal Monica & I prepared for the guys when they returned from Pastor's Conference. We stayed an extra night because of the ice and snow.
We came home to find this frozen waterfall underneath our porch. Apparently the faucet somehow gushed and the water probably froze immediately.
Will's and I dug his first snow fort! He was pretty excited.
Our little girl loves to color! And apparently loves to put markers in her mouth...
We recently got our floors replaced in the bathrooms and entryway. Here is a photo of our upstairs bathroom before and after. We'll be painting the walls in the spring and replacing the drawer handles to finish off the remodel.
This month I (Jenn) have been busy judging speech tournaments, writing articles for the Untrained Housewife and posting devotions on my personal blog, now retitled Meditations for the Heart.
Will has been enjoying playing trains, cars and doing lots of fun things with his preschool classmates. Leah is learning to talk and tries out a couple of new words every day. Her favorite words right now are Buh-buh (bye) and Dee En (the end).
Kirk and I have been part of a Bible study with some other couples called Growing Kids God's Way. Kirk is also working on some Lenten Service sermons, confirmation and the many other day-to-day tasks of being a pastor! We appreciate your prayers for our family. We think of you all and pray for you too!
