What's Been Going On

Will has been in school for about a month now and is enjoying every minute of it! He excitedly pulls his papers and library books out of his backpack every afternoon when he comes home.

Leah is adjusting to staying at home with Mom. Things have been going pretty well, but she definitely misses her older brother and practically tackles him when gets off the school bus and squeals with delight. She keeps herself busy "reading" to her dolls, helping Mom in the kitchen, doing "Preschool Homeschool" activities and dancing and singing for Jude :)

Jude is now approaching 5 months and has outgrown his baby swing. He found his toes just a couple of days ago and concentrates very hard on bringing them up and grabbing them with his hands. He actually enjoys tummy time now and reaches for toys or whatever is in front of him, smiling and drooling all the while.

I am currently working on adding more to my blog, Meditations for the Heart, so I hope that you will check out some of the changes from time to time. I've posted a few of the preschool activities Leah enjoys, some of the funny things the kids are saying and am sharing some thoughts on a Bible study I'm involved in on the book of 1 John. There are recipes as always--I keep thinking that maybe if I post all my recipes online I won't need my enormous collection of cookbooks anymore! Ha!

Kirk is back into the swing of things with two confirmation groups and youth group activities as well as preaching through John and preparing Bible studies and sermons for his radio ministry. If you are ever interested in listening to any of his sermons (I think they're quite wonderful, of course!) you can find them at our church website, Living Faith Lutheran.

It's been fun to share our lives on this blog these past 5 1/2 years since Will was born. It helps me remember so much that I have forgotten to write anywhere else!

We spent some time on Labor Day in Devils Lake with my grandparents. It is a special thing to be so close to them during their "golden years". What a blessing that my children have great-grandparents they can get to know so well!

My mom and dad were there too...mom loves to hold Jude and I'm pretty sure he doesn't mind being snuggled!

The kids loved the tractor with spinning wheels.
