My Favorite Things

William has been learning lots of new words & phrases these past few months. He's not a genius or anything, but it's fun to hear him experiment. Among some of his favorites are the following:

"eye...poke" - he says this about people or animal eyes, whether real or in pictures. I'm not sure why, but once we told him not to poke people in the eye, so maybe he's trying to reaffirm this.

"hot" - everything, from the oven to a candle, and then followed by his phrase "dahn tehech" for "don't touch"

"fly, go away" - from when we had flies in the house right after moving in

"up...down", and "open...close door"

"camera do pitcher" (for picture)

"all done", "buh bye", "hi daddy", "ra-gone" (for wagon) and the typical boy words of car, truck, train, mower and tractor are among his repertoire. We like to practice saying the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and naming fruits & vegetables. He does pretty well at knowing his foods and on a good day, counts up to 7. But he starts with 2, so I'm not sure where that came about.

We're also learning what the potty is and what you do with it (no toilet training yet, just preparation). William will also point to his body parts and name them. And we're working on articles of clothing and how to put them on and take them off. It should be interesting when he tries to dress himself :)

And, oh, yes, his new "sly", meaning "slide" is the favorite toy around here lately. Followed closely by George his monkey, who he always tells us is "crying, need hug". And sometimes, he likes to give mommy a "smooch" :)

That is so cute. I love the part where George needs a hug.
